Westford Academy is back in Northeim
Today wasn’t just any day, it was the day we would finally see our American exchange partners again. It’s been nine long months since we last saw them.
All Germans, including their parents, met at 5 p.m. at the train station in Northeim to welcome the Americans together. We were all well prepared for their arrival and brought a homemade banner and the matching flags. Everyone was incredibly excited when the train finally arrived, and we saw the first Americans. You could tell from our faces that we were all extremely happy to finally be able to hug our exchange partners again and see all the friends we made during the exchange. After welcoming the Americans, all exchange couples went home together with their parents and spent their first evening arriving and unpacking their suitcases.
The next day was the first full day we were able to spend with our exchange partners. Everyone planned something different for the morning, but many started it with a typical German breakfast. At 5 p.m., the whole group, including the parents and siblings from the Germans, were invited to a welcome party at Sophie’s house. She decorated the place and set up some tables and chairs outside so that we could all eat the delicious food everyone brought. For the rest of the party, we took some pictures, and everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather outside before driving back home and going to bed exhausted.
We are looking forward to three wonderful weeks with WA in Northeim.
